Types of learning disorders
Dyslexia (Impairment in reading) 
This is a learning disorder that affects your child’s reading. Your child may experience difficulty in connecting the letters they see with their sounds.
You will know your child has Dyslexia if they:
- Talked late
- Are slow in learning new words
- Avoid reading
- Have a spelling problem
- Have difficulty in pronunciation of unfamiliar words.
Dyscalculia (Impairment in math)
This is a specific learning disability that affects a child’s ability to understand numbers and learning math.
You will know your child has Dyscalculia if they find it hard to:
- Do estimations
- Learn basic math, like subtraction, addition, and multiplication
- Match, for example, a number(3) to its corresponding word (three)
- Remember a phone number or a zip code
- Make a change or count money
Dysgraphia (Impairment in a written expression)
This is a learning disability that affects a child’s handwriting ability and fine motor skills.
You will know your child has Dysgraphia if they:
- Have spelling problems
- Write slowly
- Mix upper and lower-case letters
- Erase frequently
- Have unusual paper positioning when writing
