What does the term Clinical Depression mean?

Everyone will experience feelings of depression throughout their life. But some of these feelings persist and develop into a serious mood disorder (Often referred to as clinical depression).

If you have depression, you are likely to experience at least 5 of the following symptoms;

What are the risk factors of depression?

The following are some of the things that can raise the risk of depression:

Medical conditions.

You are likely to experience depression if you have a sleeping disorder or chronic condition.

Family history.

You are more likely to experience the signs of depression if other members of your family suffer from depression.

Nutrition.

A poor diet can contribute to depression as well. You are at a higher risk of developing depression if your diet is low in Omega-3 fatty acids, or you consume diets with high sugar levels.

Drug abuse.

A history of alcohol or misuse of drugs can keep you at a higher risk of depression.
