Frequently Asked Questions
Are Your Eastern Manitoba Therapists Covered by Insurance?
Yes, our therapists are registered professionals, often eligible for coverage under many insurance plans. However, as policies vary, even within the same provider, we recommend contacting your insurance company directly to confirm coverage for services with your chosen therapist.
Do You Offer Virtual Therapy Sessions?
Yes! All of our therapists offer secure online sessions for individuals and couples. Some therapists specialize in virtual therapy and offer part or all of their availability exclusively for online appointments.
How Soon Can I Start Therapy?
We often have same-day and next-day appointments available. Short-notice appointments donโt always appear on our online calendar, so if youโre hoping to book for today, please call our office at 204-515-6433 โ weโd be happy to help!
What Can I Expect During My First Therapy Session?
The first session includes an overview of confidentiality and session guidelines, followed by the signing of a service agreement. Then, the therapist will discuss your concerns. Solutions often emerge as therapy progresses.
How Long Does Each Therapy Session Last?
Sessions are booked for one hour but are expected to last for 50 minutes, allowing therapists time to take payment, book another session, and prepare for their next session.
How Is Confidentiality Handled?
Sessions are confidential, with few exceptions, such as if a child is in danger, if thereโs a threat of immediate harm to someone, or if court-ordered. This is not an exhaustive list, but you will receive a comprehensive
overview of our confidentiality policy to review and sign before starting therapy.
What Are the Rates for Therapy Sessions?
Rates vary among our therapists, typically ranging from $110 to $150 for a 50-minute session. Practicum student sessions are available at $75.00. For specific rates, please use the โNew Clientโ button on their profile or call our office.
Relationship Assessment
Take our five-minute relationship health questionnaire for a quick and helpful snapshot of your relationship well-being. This short quiz is easy to understand and designed to give you insight into whether couples counselling or individual therapy might be the right fit.
If you’re unsure about your next steps, this tool can help guide your decision. It only takes a few minutes but offers valuable directionโespecially if you’re considering working with one of our therapists in Winnipeg.
Please note that this is not a clinical assessment and its results are not intended to be taken as a diagnosis of any kind. If you are concerned about your results or would like to discuss it further, please feel free to contact us.
